Closed for Winter but A LOT going on!

The NEDGC is closed for now. It's much too icy out there, and our road and parking lot can't be easily plowed. We'll re-open once it gets safe to play.

But that doesn't mean there isn't LOTS going on with the NEDGC. Although final details are not in place, here some things going on:

Clearing of fairways

We've been burning brush piles pretty much every weekend that the Southwick Fire Department issues permits. Major piles have disappeared on holes 1, 3, & 16. More in the works.

The "Short Course"

We're working with the Town of Southwick to get approval to build a "short" course in the meadows area around our current parking lot. The focus will be on a fun, family friendly course, perfect for a quick round of disc golf or a place to introduce new people to the game. We'd love to have the first nine ready to go this spring.

Tee Pads

Drew and Chris have been experimenting with various tee pad materials, and have had great luck so far with some re-cycled AstroTurf, dressed with some NEDGC sand.

Leagues and Tournaments for 2018

We're working with Pure Flight to set up a tournament schedule. Our big kickoff will be a PDGA "C" tier on Saturday, May 12. We're looking to combine it with a family friendly event on the short course, it will be a day to bring the whole family! Maybe even a few fun surprises for players and spectators.

We'll also re-start the Sunday Morning blind-draw doubles as soon as the weather allows. We will also likely have a "rec / beginners" league, possibly on Wednesdays, on the short course. It will be a chance for new players to get involved with some friendly competition in a low pressure environment. Kids, women, seniors, and newbies will all be welcome, and yes, you big arms can come too!
