NEDGC at the Southwick Town Hall

Participation in Southwick WINTERFEST

The NEDGC was invited to participate in the Southwick WINTERFEST this past weekend. We "bought" and decorated a community tree.

Community Engagement

It gave us an opportunity to talk disc golf with our neighbors from town. Those that knew about disc golf "got" our decorations, but we also got a lot of confused looks. A great opportunity to explain disc golf to someone new!

Thanks to Freda and Drew for doing the hard work of decorating, and to my wife Cathy for helping me fabricate the tree-topper "basket".

The final results of the Christmas tree that we decorated for the Southwick Winterfest. Instead of a star at the top of the tree, we were inspired by disc golf to make a goal using white beads, a candy cane, and a red/white wreath so that it resembles a disc golf goal. We also added frisbee discs to the tree and NEDG buttons.
